This is the general assembly that ensures checks and balances are applied in grant implementation.

• Oversee the implementation of Global Fund grants in Malawi to ensure achievement of outcome and impact targets;
• Nominate qualified principal recipients (PRs) to implement Global Fund grants based on transparent and inclusive processes;
• Oversee allocation of resources across the three diseases (HIV, TB, and Malaria);
• Approve major changes in grant implementation plans that have been proposed by the PRs;
• Receive and review grant progress reports that have been or are about to be sent to the Global Fund by the PRs.
